Prior to a career change to academia, Dr. Cirka worked for 10 years in the telecommunications industry for AT&T and Bell of Pennsylvania (now Verizon). She is a co-founder and current director of the U-Imagine! Center for Integrative and Entrepreneurial Studies, an initiative of Ursinus that seeks to foster development of entrepreneurial thinking and action in every student, regardless of major or post-college career plans. The U-Imagine! Center currently sponsors the U-Innovate! Competition and the U-Inspire! Speaker series.
Dr. Cirka teaches courses in management, organizational behavior, business strategy, leadership and human resource management. Her current research interest focuses on discretionary behavior in organizations with a specific emphasis on diversity and everyday ethics. She serves on the editorial boards of two management journals: Group & Organization Management and The Journal of Management Education.
