Vivian Viera ’17

As Associate Director of Annual Giving, Vivian’s job is to connect interested alumni, parents, and friends of the College more deeply in the life of the school, especially, but not exclusively, as they think about the impact they would like to have with the school through philanthropy. Vivian oversees various efforts, such as internal sources of philanthropy, like those interested in making their senior-year class gift and faculty/staff support. She also works closely with external groups such as the 1869 Associates and Sycamore Club giving societies.

Background

Vivian is a 2017 graduate of Ursinus College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication Studies, with a Film Studies minor. A transfer student, Vivian was a member of Sankofa Umoja Nia, SUN, United Students Against Sweatshops, USAS, and a member of the Lamba Pi Eta chapter of Theta Chi, an honor society for those in Media and Communications. A central theme to Vivian’s time on campus was in the arts and culture, as she participated in a student run theatre group, Breakaway Student Productions, the Dance Troop Escape Velocity, and even lead the CIE Ricochet student performance her senior year. During her time on campus Vivian also became involved with the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art and was the first student representative invited into the Berman National Advisory Council, a formal leadership committee charged with promoting and supporting the mission of the museum.

While Vivian has been away from campus, she has worked at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami- Dade County and CentraState Healthcare Foundation in Freehold, NJ, her hometown.

Outside the office, Vivian enjoys eating good food, learning new things, and laughing.
