Pigeonholed: Autistic Representation in Drama

Project Description

This project investigates representations of autism and autistic experiences in contemporary drama. The project consists of researching and analyzing these stereotypical and often problematic representations as well as writing a selection of
original plays featuring autistic characters that are designed to show more three dimensional and authentic autistic characters and experiences. “Pigeonholed: Autistic Representation in Drama” provides me with a foundation for continuing this work in the future as I aim to create meaningful representation of marginalized communities.
