Assistant Director of Admission, Events




The Assistant Director (AD) of Admission, Events plays a significant role in supporting the mission and enrollment goals of Ursinus College, as well as maintaining the academic profile and fiscal health of the College. As a crucial member of the Office of Admission, AD of Events will plan, develop and organize recruitment events and special programs on behalf of the Office of Admission. In an exciting and rapidly changing field of college admission and enrollment, the AD of Events will be responsible for organizing and executing informative and enjoyable events for students, families, guests as well as high school counselors.

The Assistant Director of Events takes an active role in the campus community. A proactive and nimble approach to evolving environments in events and higher education trends is needed for successful outcomes.


  • In consultation with the Director of Admission, develops and implements all admission-related events
  • Creates, develops and manages admissions events as part of recruitment plan, including selecting vendors, locations and agenda to promote positive and effective outcomes
  • Plans, coordinates, and runs various in-person and virtual admission visitor events, including open houses, fly-ins, counselor happy hours and educator programs.
  • Develops staffing plans to support the execution of the event coordinating faculty, departmental staff to support the program
  • Manages program logistics and mitigates on site issues with students and faculty for the duration of the program
  • Oversees and coordinates the registration process for admissions events
  • Oversees the entirety of the admission visitor experience, including in-person and virtual visit experiences. This includes, but is not limited to: daily visits, overnight visits, open houses, academic experience days and yield events for prospective families
  • Oversee and administer all aspects of the Admission Fellows and Gold Ambassador program including but not limited to hiring, supervising, and administration of the program
  • Work collaboratively with divisional partners including Director of Enrollment Marketing, Director of Student Financial Services, Director of Enrollment Operations, Director of Enrollment Research and Analytics as well as other campus partners in planning and executing events
  • In coordination with the Director of Enrollment Research and Analytics, produces and analyzes regular reports for the Director of Admission on quantitative metrics related to visits and events as well as qualitative metrics such as visitor experience, virtual and in-person events assessed through survey instruments
  • Extremely frequent evening and weekend work required

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least two years of experience in admission or event planning
  • Demonstrate the highest professional demeanor and ethical behavior while representing the institution
  • Significant experience in event planning, and have the capacity to plan and execute all logistical aspects of events
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent projects
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Possess a celebration of diversity, both in the workplace and in student population
  • Ability to work independently as well as establish and maintain collegial relations with other College staff, faculty, and students
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a close and integrated team of admission professionals
  • A collaborative and transparent approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement programs and projects related to the College’s enrollment goals
  • A desire to join and foster a dynamic, transformative campus culture
  • A valid driver’s license, US passport, and the ability to participate in significant travel
  • Ability to stand in one place for significant amounts of time and ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group, both virtually and in-person
  • Three years of work experience planning and executing events, and managing concurrent projects
  • Experience with Slate CRM
