Overview

The HR Generalist is responsible for the overall implementation of the performance management platform (processes and systems). The HR Generalist is also responsible for the implementation of the recruitment platform (processes and tools). The HR Generalist performs varied administrative and specialized tasks in support of the day-to-day administration of these two platforms.

Responsibilities

Performance Management Administration:

  • Manage the performance management platform using the current online system, Blue. Including the following:
    • Under general direction of the AVP, manage the administration of the annual review process, creating timeline, reminders, updates, communications.
    • Working with AVP, build the mid-year check-in process with Blue for employees to use going forward.
    • Working with AVP, build the 3-month (hourly) and 6- month (salaried) new hire initial evaluation into the system.
    • Working with Blue consulting team, integrate with ADP, including creating custom fields in ADP to improve the data being feeds to Blue.
    • Act as liaison with employees and Blue representatives for inquiries with assess, processes, evaluations, and reports.
    • Administer all evaluation processes to adhere to timeline
    • Train employees and supervisors (and new hires) on performance management platform.
    • Provide excellent customer service support to employees in a timely, professional manner relating to all concerns/issues related to the platform.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Under general direction of the AVP, begin to build a recruitment platform.
    • Manage the HR-related recruitment processes; including coordination with HR team for posting and supporting search committees; including assisting to develop more diverse applicant pools, reviewing position requests, reviewing applications for appropriate candidates, providing tools to search committees for the HR processes and interviewing practices, meeting with finalists, making offers to finalist, coordination of creating offer letters for new hires, and assisting with onboarding.
    • Analyze and understand market data for the purpose of pricing positions.
    • Assist with completing a hiring guidelines manual.
    • Assist with creating tools for hiring managers to provide efficiencies and minimize timeline of the search process (for staff).
    • Provide excellent customer service support to employees and departments in a timely, professional manner relating to all salary or paycheck inquiries.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes related to the position.
  • Minimum three years’ human resource administrative experience in progressively responsible positions. Demonstrated experience should include - management of highly sensitive information; management of multiple conflicting priorities; and facilitation of communication between numerous parties.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of performance management processes.
  • Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheets, word processing and outlook is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent experience in ADP, and understanding of systems for the associated platforms.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Prior experience in higher education is a plus
  • Professional designation (PHR/CEBS) a plus.
