Todd McKinney

Todd has been at Ursinus College for 30+ years and currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement and Student Programs within the Division of Inclusion and Community Engagement. Todd works with the RIce Scholars and U-Lead Scholars Programs and fosters community partnerships. A member of the Phi Kappa Sigma International Fraternity for the past 35+ years, he has served as a volunteer chapter advisor, regional director, and national officer.

Background

He graduated from West Chester University in 1988 with a BA in Political Science and minors in Geography and Land Use Planning and in 1990 with an M.S. in Counseling (Higher Education). As an undergraduate student, Todd was heavily involved with the Campus Programming Board, served as a Resident Assistant and Orientation Assistant/Intern. While in graduate school, he oversaw a mentoring program for 200 middle & high school students in the Chester–Upland School District.

McKinney resides in Collegeville with his wife, Marion and their two children, Taylor Madison (a graduate student) and Morgan Tyler (a current Ursinus student). He enjoys all things jazz, photography, comic books, anything involving the History Channels, and PBS programming. In addition, McKinney has served as a volunteer in a number of youth sports programs in the Collegeville community over the years.

The quotation on the new free-speech wall in lower Wismer Center is from Maggie Kuhn, an American activist. It says, “Speak your mind even if your voice shakes.” It’s a powerful reminder to all of the young Ursinus students who will one day be leaders in communities across our country. Jalen Everette ’22 is one of those future leaders.
