The Vice President for Enrollment Management is responsible for providing a strategic vision that guides all enrollment initiatives in support of the stable growth and sustainability of recruitment and retention at Ursinus College.
Michael J. Keaton, a successful admissions professional with a deep understanding of personalized approaches to recruitment and retention of students, joined Ursinus in January 2023.
Before joining Ursinus, Keaton served as dean of undergraduate admission at Drexel University, where he had direct oversight of undergraduate recruitment, international admission, and access and diversity initiatives. Formerly, he honed his craft at Haverford College, where he held several roles, including senior associate director of admission and director of multicultural recruitment.
Keaton has also held positions at Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass., and spent several years as the co-director of college counseling at Friends’ Central School.
Keaton is engaged nationally and locally in leadership roles, having served the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC)—including a stint on its executive committee—and as a Summer Institute faculty member. He’s also been an active member of the Coalition for College Board of Directors and the National Association of College Admission Counseling.
