Sookti Chaudhary

Before joining the Business and Economics Department at Ursinus, Dr. Chaudhary worked as an assistant professor (tenure-track) at The College of Wooster, OH, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Hamilton College, NY. Her areas of specialization include environmental economics, international trade, and health economics. Her research projects explore the interaction between firms’ environmental behavior and import competition, economic impact of PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination, carbon markets, and environmental injustice. Another line of her work includes examining the role of ownership and hospital closures with respect to efficiency of emergency medical services in the US.

Dr. Chaudhary loves to teach and interact with students. In the past, she has taught a wide variety of courses such as Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Global Trade and Exchange, Trade and the Environment, Health Economics, Economic Topics in Environmental Justice, Strategic Management, and International Business, in addition to core economic courses. Dr. Chaudhary looks forward to teaching at Ursinus.
