Sarah Kaplan
Practicum Doctoral Student
Background
Sarah is currently a third-year clinical psychology doctoral student at La Salle University in Philadelphia. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring the client’s needs to her clinical work. Further, Sarah values multicultural, sexual, and gender sensitivity in her work and considers herself as one who is always learning and never an expert. Her therapeutic style has been described as empathetic, validating, humorous, and collaborative. Sarah is interested in working with anxiety, mood, and eating disorders in her future career, with a special interest in working with shame, perfectionism, lack of motivation, and identity development. She would like to work with older teens and young adults, particularly in either a college or community mental health setting. When she is not working, Sarah enjoys cooking, exploring the world with her two puppies, taking road trips, and spending time with friends and family.
