My Experience

Primary Service Sites/Social Justice Passions

My main service site has been Integrate for Good which takes place right on campus! It’s a volunteer program that is inclusive for people of all abilities, and our main focus right now has been the sleeping mat project, which is where we weave plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless.

What Scholars in Service Means to Me

I chose to be a part of Scholars in Service because service has been a huge part of my life, and something I’ve been participating in since I was young. At Ursinus, I wanted to become connected to a group of like-minded individuals that enjoy giving back to the community just as much as I do!

Memorable Moment in Scholars in Service

A specific service experience that stood out to me was when we all went to volunteer for Share Food Program in Philadelphia. It was a very fun and rewarding experience to work together assembly-line style packaging food to give out as part of the program. Here, we learned the power of working as a team and were able to package several hundred boxes to give away

Advice for Prospective Ursinus Service Leaders

Some advice I have to give is to lead by example, not only in your acts of service but in other aspects of your life as well. Be a good role model for others, as your actions may inspire and motivate others!
