Recent Work

Jon’s novel, Brave in Season, dropped in September 2023, from Milford House, an imprint of Sunbury Press. Based on real events, the novel, set in 1950 Nebraska, explores what happens when an African American rail repair crew is stationed in a tight-knit farm town. Will tensions explode into an all-too-familiar American tragedy, or can common ground be found in the shape of a diamond, with balls and bats and mutual good will?

“A richly textured and engaging narrative that tells a multilayered story. This book needed to be written, and deserves to be read.”-JB Manheim, Author of The Deadball Files series
