Through International Internships, we provide over 4,500 members/year the challenging opportunity to live and work in a foreign country in areas of management, information technology, education, and development.

American India Foundation, the William J Clinton Fellowship
The mission of the fellowship program is to provide technical skills and intellectual resources to assist under-resourced NGOs in meeting their goals and to build the next generation of leaders with an informed commitment to affecting positive social and economic change in India beyond the ten months of their fellowship. This fellowship offers young Americans the change to work with Indian NGOs for a period of 10 months.

American University in Cairo, the Presidential Internship Program
Since its inception in 1981, the Presidential Internship Program at AUC has provided graduating seniors from colleges and universities across the United States with the unique opportunity to learn about the internal dynamics of university administration while living in Cairo, the cultural and political center of the Middle East. Each intern spends one academic year working in an administrative office and reports directly to a supervisor. Internships are available in the president’s office, planning and institutional research, public relations, the student newspaper, the rare books and special collections library, the center for adult and continuing education, web development, and the desert development center.

ArtCorps ArtCorps is a dynamic social enterprise using the arts to advance social change in developing countries. Each year, ArtCorps sends volunteer professional artists to support the environmental, public health and human rights initiatives of Central American organizations. During their one- to two- year placements, the artists use murals, theater, stories, puppetry and other creative facilitation techniques to educate and inspire people to participate actively in improving their communities.

Ashoka Social Entrepreneurship Fellow
Ashoka Fellows are leading social entrepreneurs who are recognize for having innovative solutions to social problems and the potential to change patterns across society. They demonstrate unrivaled commitment to bold new ideas and prove that compassion, creativity, and collaboration are tremendous forces for change. Ashoka Fellows work in over 60 countries around the globe in every area of human need. Ashoka Fellows work in the fields of civic engagement, economic development, environment, health, human rights, and learning/education.

BUNAC
For a fee, the organization arranges work permits for short-term employment in Britain, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and arranges volunteer placements in South Africa, Peru and Cambodia.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is a full-year work-study scholarship program with a strong focus on cultural exchange. CBYX annually provides 75 young Americans with an understanding of everyday life, education, and professional training in Germany. The program begins in July and includes two months of intensive German language training in Germany (no prior German language knowledge required), four months of classroom instruction at a German university or college of applied sciences, and a five-month internship in a participant’s career field. The CBYX for Young Professionals program is intended primarily for young adults in business, vocational, scientific, engineering, technical, and agricultural fields, though applicants from all fields are encouraged to apply. Participants actively participate in securing their internship positions with assistance from CDS’s partner organization in Germany, InWEnt, and are expected to cover incidental expenses as well as represent the U.S. diplomatically while abroad.

Fellowship of Reconciliation Columbia Program, Colombia Peace Presence Volunteer
The purposes of the volunteer presence in Colombia are: 1) Accompaniment of San José de Apartadó to assist in protecting the lives of the community, and by doing so, help to maintain open the space for human rights and for neutrality of the civilian population in the Colombian countryside. 2) Learn and report about other ongoing efforts by the Colombian civil society to build peace, including other Peace Communities, national and regional Peace Networks or Organizations and other grassroots forms of resisting war.

Global Service Corps
GSC community training and development programs are offered year round, from two weeks to one year, in HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, International Public Health, Cultural & Buddhist Immersion, Orphanage Care, and Teach English Abroad. (A fee is required to volunteer.)

IDEX Fellowship The IDEX Fellowship in Social Enterprise is a unique 9-month, paid, early entry, professional development program for post-graduates interested in the field of social enterprise.

InterExchange Foundation - Christianson Grant
The Christianson Grant is awarded to individuals who have arranged their own work abroad programs. Proposed programs must be at least six months in length and emphasize a work component. The grant program does not support independent research projects or academic study abroad programs.

Peace Corps
Peace Corps Volunteers work in the following areas: education, youth outreach, and community development; business development; agriculture and environment; health and HIV/AIDS; and information technology. 

Princeton-in-Africa
Princeton in Africa develops young leaders committed to Africa’s advancement by offering yearlong fellowship opportunities with a variety of organizations that work across the African continent.

Princeton-in-Asia
Princeton-in-Asia (PiA) provides transformative, service-oriented experiences for talented graduates and serves the needs of Asia as determined by our Asian partners. Over the last century, the organization has achieved this goal by providing talented young people with various opportunities to live and work in Asia. In 2007, PiA placed 125 fellows in seventeen countries, including Cambodia, China, Timor-Leste, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Currently the program offers 85 teaching fellowships with 40 additional fellowships in the fields of journalism, international development, and business.

Princeton-in-Latin America
Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) is a non-profit organization that partners with non-profits throughout Latin America to match them with young, public sector professionals seeking full-year fellowships in development work. PiLA placements offer important field experience to recent college alumni who cannot otherwise find NGO work in Latin America and who are eager to pursue careers in development work; no other program like this exists. Therefore, PiLA provides crucial work experience to aspiring public sector professionals.

United Nations Volunteer
UNV opens up opportunities for professional women and men (over 25 with work experience) to serve as UNV volunteers and contribute to the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – a set of time-bound targets to combat poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination against women.

United Planet
United Planet offers gap year volunteer abroad opportunities in over 30 countries through the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) Federation’s exchange member network. Founded after World War II as part of an international reconciliation program between the United States and Germany, ICYE is well-established in the field of cultural exchange.

Volunteers in Asia (VIA)
VIA’s Asia Programs provide U.S. Citizens and U.S. Residents (between the ages of 18 and 75) with volunteer, educational and fellowship opportunities in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Volunteers teach English, learn about the local culture and provide support to local non-profit organizations.

Volunteers for Peace
Volunteers For Peace offers placement in international volunteer projects in more than 100 countries including popular destinations such as volunteering in France, India, Italy, Peru and Kenya. As part of the international voluntary service movement, Volunteers for Peace participants work with volunteers from at least four other countries on grassroots-identified projects to improve local communities. Our short-term projects are known also as International Workcamps.

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom
An international NGO with consultative status in the United Nations Economic and SocialCouncil, WILPF works to achieve, through peaceful means, world disarmament, full rights forwomen, racial and economic justice, and an end to all forms of violence. WILPF offers a paid12-month internship with the UN in Geneva and in New York.
