Online Appointments

For Spring 2020, you can still make an appointment any time with the Center for Writing and Speaking and work on your writing or speaking projects with a Writing Fellow.

Make an appointment here: https://ursinus.mywconline.net

The Center for Writing and Speaking is currently open for online-only appointments. We can still work with you on any writing or speaking assignment, for any class (or for something outside class), at any stage of your writing process. Woo hoo!

Make an appointment, as before, at this website: https://ursinus.mywconline.net

When you make an appointment with us, you will have two options: an eTutoring session, or an Online session.

The Online Session

  • This is your best option if you can be on the internet at the time of your appointment.
  • With an Online session, both you and your Writing Fellow can look at your document together and talk about it through a chat box.
  • The Online Session is the preferred method, because it is interactive.

Making an Online appointment:

  1. Go to ursinus.mywconline.net. If it’s your first time at our website, register for an account; otherwise, just sign in.
  2. When you find an appointment time that works for you, click the white box.
  3. Then, simply choose the “Online appointment” option, and fill in all the boxes on the appointment form.

Coming to an Online appointment:

  1. Five minutes before your appointment, sign back in at ursinus.mywconline.net. Click on your appointment.
  2. On your appointment page, click “start or join online consultation.” A new window will open up.

How it works:

  • The main part of the screen is a whiteboard where you can copy and paste your essay draft of any other large document you want your Writing Fellow to see.
  • On the lower right side of the page is a chat box where you and your Writing Fellow can communicate.

The eTutoring Session

  • This is your best option if you cannot be on the internet at the time of your appointment.
  • With an eTutoring session, you will upload your document before the appointment, and at the end of the appointment, your Writing Fellow will contact you with some written suggestions about your work.

Making an eTutoring appointment:

  1. Go to ursinus.mywconline.net. If it’s your first time at our website, register for an account; otherwise, just sign in.
  2. When you find an appointment time that works for you, click the white box.
  3. Then, choose the “eTutoring appointment” option, and fill in all the boxes on the appointment form.
  4. You will need to upload a document to your appointment form. You can either do that at the bottom of the appointment form when you make the appointment, or you can do it later, by logging back in to ursinus.mywconline.net, clicking on your appointment, then clicking “edit appointment” at the bottom of your appointment screen.
  5. Note: If you have an assignment sheet available, please also attach that to your appointment form.

Coming to an eTutoring appointment:

  • You do not need to “show up” for an eTutoring appointment.
  • After your appointment time is over, your Writing Fellow will send you a report with some suggestions attached. You can consider the Writing Fellow’s suggestions during your revision process.
