Licensing Procedure

Any use of the college or athletics marks on apparel or merchandise must go through a licensing process.

Ursinus College uses Learfield Licensing Partners as its primary licensing agent.

Learfield Licensing Partners:

  1. Facilitates the licensing process for licensees.
  2. Executes licensing agreements.
  3. Monitors the marketplace for unlicensed use of trademarks.
  4. Collects royalties.
  5. Conducts compliance review audits of licensed manufacturers.

In order to produce apparel or merchandise bearing the marks of Ursinus College, manufacturers and vendors must be properly licensed.

All licensees are required to remit royalty reports and payments on a quarterly basis to Learfield Licensing Partners, who collects these payments on behalf of Ursinus College.

What marks are covered?

All logos that are part of the college visual identity and the athletics visual identity are covered.

Does this include printed material?

No. Letterhead, envelopes, postcards and publications are not included. Apparel and other merchandise must be licensed.

Who gets the license?

The vendor who is manufacturing the apparel or merchandise must get the license and pay the appropriate royalties.
