Dr. William Wilson Baden

While Dr. William Wilson Baden or “Boots” as he was called was only part of the Ursinus College faculty from 1914 to 1924, his reputation, particularly his name, continues to be an active part of the college’s faculty scholarship.

As a professor of modern languages, Baden taught Greek, Spanish, French, and German. He was known for being well-traveled and full of quirky wisdom. In 1986, Dr. Baden’s son established a fund that supports the William Wilson Baden Faculty Presentation Series. These lectures, which still occur today, give faculty an opportunity to share their work with the entire campus community. All are welcome to view the virtual Faculty Baden presentations here.
