FAQs

What is the purpose of the survey?

We need your input. Your everyday experiences reveal what is and what is not working at our college. This survey will allow the college to obtain faculty and staff opinions about the way Ursinus operates and works together. It will measure opinions and perceptions about how well we are executing our strategies and communicating and provide a baseline to create action plans to move Ursinus forward toward even higher performance and success than we are experiencing today.

Who is taking the survey?

The survey is open to all full-time and part-time faculty and staff provided via confidential link emailed to them by Denison on January 22. That survey link is unique to you. Employees without access to email may pick up a hard copy of the survey in the human resources office. Employees using the electronic link to complete the survey can do so on a desktop, laptop, or mobile phone.

Will the survey be anonymous?

Yes. All responses will be sent directly to Denison. No one at Ursinus will have access to the raw data or to any individual responses. The purpose of the survey is to explore patterns and trends across the organization on an aggregated group level, not to review individual responses or opinions. Please be open and honest so that we can best determine what is working and what is standing in our way of moving forward. More information.

How much detail about individual respondents will be shared with Ursinus?

We will receive the data in only the broadest of categories. The goal of the survey is not to determine what individuals think, but what the overall themes are on campus. We are not interested in individual data. More information.

How long will the survey take to complete?

The survey takes 25 to 40 minutes to complete. There are approximately 100 scaled questions and four open-ended qualitative questions to answer. The answering process goes very quickly. If a participant has started the survey but needs more time to complete, the participant may close the survey window and responses will be saved. They can re-enter the survey through the original link when convenient before 11 p.m. on Feb. 3.

Why should I participate?

As employees, you are our most important asset. We are ready to listen and act on what you tell us.

Your feedback is critical to developing an action plan with tangible and unique outcomes. Your insight can influence how we can improve not only our culture, but also our climate and employee engagement.

Will results be shared with the campus community?

Denison will provide our survey results to Ursinus leadership in mid-March. Results will then be shared with all employees, and clarifying conversations will occur and action plans drafted beginning of April. More information.
