In appreciation of our faculty and staff, we are introducing a new summer hours program designed to provide you with some well-deserved extra time off, and more time for your well-being and re-invigoration.
Half-Day Fridays
Half-day Fridays will begin on May 17, 2024, and will continue through August 2, 2024. All offices will close at 12:30 p.m. each Friday during that time with just two exceptions:
Friday, May 31 (the college is closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27)
Friday, June 21 (the college is closed for Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19)
Summer Break Week
The college will be closed from Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 7 giving all employees a “summer break” —an entire week off during the Fourth of July holiday.
Frequently Asked Questions
Half-day Fridays will begin on May 17, 2024, and will continue through August 2, 2024. We will return to normal business hours on Fridays beginning the week of Monday, August 5.
Employees must report to work to be eligible for summer hours. Part-time employees and certain grant-funded positions are not eligible for the program. Overtime cannot be accrued with the summer hours program.
We recognize that some offices may need to remain open on Friday afternoons with minimal staffing for the duration of normal operating hours. In the event a department must remain open, alternative flextime may be arranged with supervisor approval.
Our remote work policy will remain in place in its current 3/2 format during this timeframe, which means all employees are expected to be in the office three days per week in accordance with your department’s remote work policy agreement. Half-day Fridays cannot be added to your remote work agreement as an additional work from home day.
All departments will submit new remote work agreements beginning August 1.
If you have a previously scheduled day off, the full day must be reported as vacation day, wellness day, or floating holiday. If you are out of the office due to illness, the full day must be reported as sick.
