Email Settings for Mobile Phones

Settings used for both Apple products (iPhone and iPad) and Android devices.

Apple Products

Both iPhones and iPads use the same settings for setting up e-mail

 To setup your e-mail please follow these instructions

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Navigate to “Mail”
  • Select “Accounts”
  • Select “Add Account”
  • Select “Exchange”
  • Type your full e-mail address and password
  • Select “Next” in the upper right corner.

After this it should verify the connection settings.

If it brings you to a screen asking for more information please fill in the following:

For “Server” use outlook.office365.com

For username use your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (ex: student@ursinus.edu)

The e-mail address and password fields should be automatically filled in. Once confirmed remember that “Mail Days to Sync” in that account needs to be set to see the appropriate amount of mail per your preference. Choosing “no limit” will allow for full access to all account email.

Android Devices

Please note, there are various versions of the Android operating system, some options may be different than those listed here.

To setup your e-mail please follow these instructions.

  • Open your Apps list
  • Go to “Settings”
  • Under Accounts select “Add Account”
    • On some versions of the Android operating system “Accounts” will be a selectable option under “Settings”
  • Choose Microsoft Exchange Active Sync
    • On some versions of the Android operating system this is simply “Exchange”
  • Type your e-mail address and password
  • Select “Manual setup”
  • Change the Username option to your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (ex: student@ursinus.edu)
  • Change the server to outlook.office365.com
  • Select Next

If You Previously Had Your Mail Setup on Your Phone and Need to Change to the New Server 

Apple Products

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Navigate to “Mail”
  • Select your Ursinus e-mail setup (Most likely named Exchange by default)
  • Select the account within this window, it should be your e-mail address
  • Change the following information:
  • For “Server” use outlook.office365.com

    For username use your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (ex: student@ursinus.edu)

  • Select Next 

Android Devices

  • Open your Apps list
  • Go to “Settings”
  • Under Accounts select “Microsoft Exchange Active Sync”
    • On some versions of the Android operating system “Accounts” will be a selectable option under “Settings” and it would be under “Exchange”
  • Change the following information:
    • For “Server” use outlook.office365.com

      For username use your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (ex: student@ursinus.edu)

    • Select Next 

It is possible that you may not be able to change settings using either Apple or Android. If this is the case you may need to delete the account from your device and setup a new account following the directions at the top of the page.
