Looking to be more involved in your student’s college experience? Do you want to connect with other UC parents and share experiences? Consider joining the UC parent volunteers who serve on the Parents Leadership Council.

We are honored to take on the role of Co-Chairs for the Parents Leadership Council (PLC). When our daughter, Phoebe, enrolled in the Class of 2023, we sought ways to support Ursinus in its excellent work engaging students and preparing them for success beyond their graduation.
The PLC is a core group of committed parents who help move Ursinus forward in a variety of ways. The Council is an excellent opportunity to play an active, supportive role and to more fully engage with the Ursinus Community.

PLC Initiatives

Recommend high schools in your region Ursinus should be working with
Refer promising high school juniors and seniors to Ursinus
Engage in parent-to-parent discussions (virtually or in person)
Participate in Admissions Admitted Student Day (on campus in early April)
Assist with college fairs
Contact prospective students and families
Willingness to share contact information with accepted families who might want to seek information or advice about being an Ursinus family

Offer experiential internships and career opportunities to Ursinus students
Be available to offer career advice to students through the UC Parent Group on LinkedIn
Provide job shadow opportunities to current students through our Extern Program
Facilitate connections to people and organizations interested in hiring talented Ursinus students and alumni

Meet / contact potential PLC members to encourage other parents to join the Council.
Host prospective student events.
Act as hosts for the President’s Leadership reception during Family Day in the fall.

Support the Annual Fund with a leadership gift of $1,869 or more.
Collaborate with Advancement staff on messaging for parents’ solicitation and share ideas for the parent community solicitation pieces.
Serve as social media volunteer in support of #giving2ucday (Tuesday following Thanksgiving).
Assist Advancement office with identifying parents for Annual Fund or other campaign priorities.
Support the Bear2Bear Benefit and Bash spring event by soliciting auction items and sponsorships and attending the event
