Everything you need to know about living on campus this spring!
Am I guaranteed housing on campus?
Yes! All Ursinus students are guaranteed housing on campus. Unless you inform us otherwise, we assume you want to live in the residence halls.
How does the Residence Life staff make housing assignments?
Like in fall housing lottery, we use class years and lottery numbers to give you the best match according to your preferences. We do our best to create placements that match your preferences with the available spaces created by student departures and consolidations.
How do I inform Residence Life of my housing preferences?
Click here to fill out the Spring Housing Preference Survey. Surveys are due by Friday, December 13th.
What are my chances of getting a single room?
We can’t anticipate how many singles will be available, or how many people returning to campus will request one. The best advice we can give you is to indicate your preferences as clearly as possible on the survey, and prepare for alternatives.
When will I find out my housing assignment?
Housing assignments will be sent via email on Monday, January 6th, 2019. Your housing email will include your building and room number, the name of your roommate (if applicable), and details for move-in.
When is move-in day for spring semester?
Ursinus College is closed on Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We encourage our entire campus community to use this occasion to reflect upon the life of Dr. King and to celebrate his legacy and his commitment to service.
Move-in day for all students for the spring semester is Tuesday, January 21st. Students coming to campus for the first time this academic year must complete the check-in process on Tuesday, January 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Wismer Bears’ Den in Wismer Center. You will visit various tables to obtain clearance from Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Wellness before receiving your residence hall room keys. Please ensure all paperwork and payments are up to date before arriving on campus. You will be able to check the status of your account via the Grizzly Gateway. The College will not permit students to participate in college activities, reside in residence halls, or attend classes until the check-in process is complete.
What if I’m required to be on campus prior to move-in day for a sport or College-sponsored program?
Any students who are involved in campus-facilitated programs, such as athletics or Student Affairs leadership positions, must confirm arrival plans with campus supervisors. There are restrictions on the dates and times students can arrive; do not book travel plans until you confirm with your supervisor.
Our office is committed to accommodating every college program. Students who were abroad or participating in PhillyX during the fall semester but need housing during winter break (December 16 through January 19) will receive a campus room assignment for the break. It is possible that you will need to stay in a temporary room until your spring assignment is ready. Additionally, meal plans are not in effect during the break; students receive meals based upon their college program’s arrangements.
What if I want to request permission to arrive earlier than Tuesday, January 21st?
If you are not part of an athletic team or organized group but believe you have extenuating circumstances that would prevent you from arriving on January 21st, there will be an opportunity for you to fill out an early arrival request when you receive your housing assignment.
