Performing Arts Scholarships

The Ursinus Dance Program Scholarship, Theater Program Scholarship and Music Program Scholarship each award $33,000 per year, or $132,000 for four years, to an outstanding student with ability, commitment, and leadership potential. Runner-up awards for each department are also available.

A qualifying student for each scholarship must be experienced, well-rounded and independent-minded with the potential for artistic, intellectual, and personal growth within their respective program.

Dance Program Scholarship

How to apply:

No separate application is required. Students interested in auditioning must:

1. Apply to the College by December 15, 2017.

2. Submit a resume of performance experience by January 1, 2018.

3. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

4. Be prepared to discuss the following question in an interview:

a. What is the meaning of dance in your life?

Theater Program Scholarship

No separate application is required. Students interested in auditioning must:

1. Apply to the College by December 15, 2017.

2. Submit a resume of performance by January 1, 2018.

3. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

4. Be prepared to participate in an acting workshop and a short interview.

Music Program Scholarship

No separate application is required. Students interested in auditioning must:

  1. Apply to the College by December 15, 2017.
  2. Submit a resume of performance experience by January 1, 2018.
  3. Auditions will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018.

On the day of auditions, applicants are required to:

  • Present 6-8 minutes of prepared material, consisting of two contrasting styles. Those auditioning may be asked to play scales, but sight-reading will not be required. Instrumentalists will perform unaccompanied. For vocalists, please bring piano accompaniments as an accompanist will be available.
  • Be prepared for a 5-8 minute interview. A panel of music faculty will engage you with questions about your interest in music, your interest in Ursinus, and your other areas of interest.
