Scholarship Opportunities

Ursinus College offers financial assistance based both on merit and financial circumstances. The college’s scholarship and grant programs total more than $45 million for 2017-2018. Ninety-nine percent of Ursinus students receive some form of financial assistance.

Students who submit the FAFSA will be considered for all aid programs administered by the college.

Merit Scholarships

info graphic 99 percent financial assistanceMerit Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admission to full-time students on the basis of academic achievements and leadership potential. All applicants to the college are considered for any eligible scholarships. Students awarded Ursinus College Scholarships must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 to be eligible for renewal. Application deadline: Students may apply under our Early Action, Early Decision or Regular Decision deadlines.

The college offers several unique scholarships that have distinct deadlines and application requirements. Certain scholarships are stackable, others are not. Non-stackable scholarships cannot be combined with other non-stackable scholarships. Students will only receive one non-stackable scholarship. Stackable scholarships can be combined with both non stackable and other stackable scholarships.

Merit Based Scholarships

When you apply to Ursinus as a first-year student, you are automatically considered for the following scholarships.

Non-Stackable

  • Zacharias Honors
    Our highest recognition for academic achievement and leadership, valued at $40,000/year.

  • Gateway
    The Gateway Scholarship guarantees admissible applicants who earn an ACT of 27+ or SAT of 1220+  $30,000/year.

  • Ursinus Scholarship
    All students are reviewed for eligibility to receive at least $18,000-$30,000 per year.

Stackable

  • Legacy
    $2,500 awarded to admitted applicants who are the children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of Ursinus students and alumni. 


Specialty Scholarships

The following scholarships require an additional application in addition to the Common Application. 

Non-Stackable

  • Creative Writing Award
    The Creative Writing Award is a $40,000/year major scholarship for creative writers of outstanding originality and potential.

  • Performing Arts
    Dance, Music and Theater each award a scholarship of $40,000/year to an outstanding student with ability, commitment, and leadership.

  • Rev. Charles Rice Memorial
    The Rice Memorial Scholarship awards $35,000/year to applicants who have meaningfully impacted issues of diversity and inclusion.

Stackable

  • Ursinus Science Scholars
    Providing scholarships for highly motivated students with significant financial need who plan to major in Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, or Neuroscience.

  • Abele Scholars
    Abele Scholars at Ursinus College are high-achieving students who are residents of PA, DE, NJ, or MD with demonstrated financial need.

  • Parlee Fellows
    Each year we enroll five incoming students designated as Parlee Fellows, who will receive a scholarship worth $8,000/year (renewable). 

  • Social Justice Scholars
    Each year we enroll five incoming students designated as Social Justice Scholars, who will receive a scholarship worth $8,000/year (renewable).

  • U-Lead Scholars
    Incoming students who successfully apply will be awarded $8,000/year (renewable).

  • Bonner Leaders
    Scholarship offering students with exceptional records of leadership and community service work an opportunity to continue their commitment to the common good.

  • U-Imagine Ambassadors
    Each year we enroll five incoming students designated as U-Imagine Ambassadors, who will receive a scholarship worth $8,000/year (renewable). 


Transfer Scholarships

When you apply as a transfer student to Ursinus, you are automatically considered for the following scholarships.

Non-Stackable

  • Phi Theta Kappa
    Transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society will receive a $30,000/year merit scholarship.

  • MCCC
    Montgomery County Community College graduates who achieve a 3.0 cumulative GPA in their Associates Degree will be awarded a $25,000/year merit scholarship.

  • Ursinus Scholarship
    All students are reviewed for eligibility to receive at least $18,000-$30,000 per year.
