About Us

Collaboration, innovation, creativity…bring it on.

We think BIG and small here in the OS!

It takes creative thinking, flexibility, and collaboration to effect change in our world.  As a result, we like to think and act in ways that break down barriers in order to positively impact systems and culture that make our campus a better place to live, work, and learn.

Take some time to enjoy learning more about the history of sustainability on campus and what our current work on campus looks like. Take a look at our Campus Climate and Sustainability Plan, our resources that encourage sustainable work and lifestyle changes, or our student programs.  If you have an idea about how to green our campus or our campus community, please let us know.  We welcome collaboration with offices, students, faculty, and staff across the campus.

Student Programs

We run a number of programs that promote sustainability on campus.  These programs are largely run by our Sustainability Fellows with staff oversight.  These programs provide students who are motivated to get involved and promote sustainability an opportunity to engage in challenging programming aimed at our campus community.  Our Sustainability Fellows work on individual projects as well as on some collaborative projects to introduce a wide variety of sustainability concepts.  Some of our programs are long-standing programs and some are new.  Most evolved out of student-led initiatives.

In addition to our Fellows, we also have a student-led UC Green Network program that allows students to design and implement their own sustainable living events.
