We live and work here - find out about our efforts to make our campus more sustainable.
Sustainability can be found across our campus: in residence halls (where we host energy competitions and encourage residents to conserve energy); in our dining hall (where we compost most everything); in our buildings (where we have lights on motion sensors); even on our grounds (where we have LED lights to brighten dark pathways).
The Ursinus College Facilities Services Department leads the way to lowering the campus’ impact on the natural environment and to becoming both environmentally and economically more sustainable. We have procedures in place across our department, from the Copy Center to Housekeeping, and from Building Maintenance and HVAC to our Heat Plant and Chiller.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Through the concerted efforts of all our staff, we have been able to maintain our greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time expanding our campus. While this is not lowering our emissions overall, we are lowering our emissions per square foot. We will continue to work toward lowering our carbon footprint.
