After careful consideration and continued discussion with health officials and Montgomery County, we have made the decision to begin the fall semester in-person. Our goal is to provide our students with a residential and academic experience that reflects the very best of Ursinus.

August 20 First-year students ONLY on campus and begin CIE intensive program. (First-year students and transfer students should expect a phased move-in process and to be on campus just prior to August 20.)
September 7 Fall semester begins with on-campus instruction for all students
November 25 Students return home for Thanksgiving and on-campus instruction ends
November 30 - December 15 Fall semester continues with remote instruction
December 16 Final exams begin online
December 22 Final exams conclude and fall semester ends

Guidelines for Students

What to expect this fall: All students

  • More information about fall move-in, which will look substantially different than our traditional move-in, will be shared in July.

  • Every student will be required to complete testing approximately two weeks prior to their return to campus. We are working closely with LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics and others on this process, which will be clearly outlined in a future communication from the Wellness Center.
  • Students are encouraged to bring cloth masks or face coverings with them to campus (PPE will also be provided). 
  • The fall semester will begin with in-person instruction.
  • Classes for all students will begin classes on Monday, September 7 and on-campus instruction will continue until November 25 (Thanksgiving break).
  • Classes will continue remotely from November 30 through December 15. 
  • Final exams will be conducted remotely online from December 16 through December 22.

What to expect this fall: First-year students 

  • First-year students should expect a phased move-in process and to be on campus prior to August 20.
  • Information about fall move-in was sent by residence life on July 7, and July 15.  This will look substantially different than our traditional move-in and includes an early drop-off period for students within the two-hour drive or extended move-in for those who are coming from farther away. Students signed up for each option in July.
  • Every student will be required to complete testing approximately two weeks prior to their return to campus. We are working closely with LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics and others on this process, which was clearly outlined in the July 30, email to students and families: “Important Announcement Regarding Ursinus College COVID-19 Testing”
  • Students are encouraged to bring cloth masks or face coverings with them to campus.
  • The fall semester will begin with in-person instruction.
  • First-year students will begin fall classes in-person starting on Thursday, August 20 (2 weeks prior to the start of classes).
  • For the first two weeks first-year students will participate in an intensive Common Intellectual Experience.
  • This two-week period will allow first-years to acclimate to campus; bond as the class of 2024; and begin their journey as rigorous scholars.
