About First Year Housing
The Residence Life staff at Ursinus College strives to provide you with a positive and educational living environment that will serve as your home away from home. First-year students live together within various residence halls on campus. This allows you to live in close proximity to other students who are experiencing the celebrations and challenges of college life for the first time, just like you. Resident Advisors are carefully selected to work with first-year students. Additionally, the Assistant Director for First-Year Centers devotes particular attention to community development efforts and programs for this community.
First-year students are placed in double, triple and some quad room options. There are very few singles available, so you should plan on having at least one roommate. All First-Year Centers are substance-free. Click here to learn more about what to bring your first year. Check back here for more information after orientation on the Housing Preference Questionnaire.
The Housing Preference Questionnaire
The Housing Preference Questionnaire should be filled out by all incoming first-year students. This form is used as a guide by the Residence Life staff in room and roommate assignment process. Please answer the questions as honestly and completely as possible. If you have a specific person that you would like to have as a roommate, remember that all roommates need to request each other perfectly on the questionnaire in order for the match process to work. It is each student’s responsibility to confirm roommate preferences prior to completing this form. You may log into the survey multiple times to make changes.
Students must complete the HPQ no later than Sunday, June 4, 2016 at 11:59 PM. Students who do not complete the form on time will be placed on a wait list and assigned to rooms after the other students in the class.
If you have a medical condition or disability that you believe impacts your housing, send supporting documentation to Shammah Bermudez, Director of Disability Services in The Ursinus Institute for Student Success by Sunday, June 4 at 11:59 PM, at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 610-409-3731.
Residence Life staff will send an email to your Ursinus email account by June 21, 2016 with your room assignment and contact information for your roommate(s). We encourage you to contact your roommate(s) prior to your arrival on campus. Please remember that we do not make room changes over the summer.
Accessing the Housing Preference Questionnaire
You will need to enter your user name and password when prompted. Your user name is the first part of your Ursinus email address (before the @ursinus.edu) and your password is the same as you use to access email. Do not enter your full Ursinus email address to log in - you must only enter the portion that contains your name. Please view the video below that contains instructions on how to complete the Housing Preference Questionnaire.

If you are still looking for a roommate, create a profile on the Ursinus roommate search page. You can then access the profiles of other students. Once you’ve found a match, make sure you and your roommate indicate on the Housing Preference Questionnaire that you want to live together.
If you have issues accessing the HPQ or have any first-year housing questions, please contact email@example.com.
