Fiscal Year 2017 in Review

Last fall, Ursinus College embarked on an exciting and transformative new journey—the $100 million Keep the Promise comprehensive campaign.

This college has a long history of partnering with philanthropic supporters to ensure our continued prominence as a leader in private, liberal arts education. With the launch of Keep the Promise, we are once again relying on our Bear family—alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends, corporations and organizations—to answer the call and step-up as benefactors.

We are truly grateful to all of those who made contributions during the 2017 fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017). View a full listing of our donors.

Gifts and Commitments

The college closed the 2017 fiscal year having raised $7,541,914 in total gifts received from 4,988 donors. This includes approximately $2.12 million for our Annual Fund. As of June 30, we had raised $64.4 million in cash and pledges toward our Keep the Promise campaign goal.

About the Endowment

Ursinus’s long-term stability relies, in part, upon the strength of its endowment. Endowed funds are invested, with the principal remaining intact and only the income spent each year. This enables them to serve as a crucial source of funding for the college, while also existing in perpetuity and growing in value over time. They allow donors to put their own names—or someone else’s—on a fund, and honor a legacy of support indefinitely into the future.

The market value of the endowment at June 30, 2017, was $136.8 million.
