Ursinus offers our most generous and loyal benefactors the opportunity for recognition among one of our special giving societies.
The Cornerstone Society
The Cornerstone Society recognizes Ursinus’s most generous and actively engaged donors. A five-year membership in this leadership-level giving group is secured through a pledge of $100,000, payable over five years or through a planned gift. Members receive exclusive benefits, and serve as ambassadors for the college.
The 1869 Society
The 1869 Society was created to recognize Ursinus’s most transformative supporters, those whose generosity is truly fundamental to the college’s continuing success. Named for Ursinus’s founding year, this leadership giving group is composed of those individuals, corporations and foundations who make unrestricted annual gifts of $1,869 or more.
The Tower Society
The Tower Society was established in 1991 to recognize those individuals who have included Ursinus in their estate plans—either through a planned-gift agreement or charitable bequest. It honors our oldest academic building on campus, Bomberger Hall (built in 1891), and its emblematic tower. The building was financed through a bequest from the college’s first benefactor, Robert Patterson. Tower Society members are among Ursinus’s most impactful donors.
The Sycamore Club
The Sycamore Club recognizes Ursinus’s most loyal donors—those who have made contributions to the college for five or more consecutive years. The Club’s name is a tribute to Ursinus’s storied sycamore tree, which once stood at the location of the current Patterson Field. It was determined to be 200-250 years old at its falling, and came to symbolize the enduring strength of the college and its many longstanding traditions. Sycamore Club members are among the college’s most devoted.
